It has been a long time since all rowing elite of our country gathered together in autumn, and even not only to identify the strongest but also in order to staff the national team for the autumn-winter training campaign. This fall, according to the organizers of competitions (that is the Russian Rowing Federation), everything had to radically change.

On October 6 at 10 am the first teams came at the start of the Autumn Rowing Marathon. Traditionally, only the crews of fours participate in the competition (scull and sweep oar, coxed and coxless). Challenge Cups for winning the "small" and "big" marathons are played in different age categories. Young boys and girls competed at a distance of 5 kilometers, as well as veterans (small marathon). The big marathon distance is 10 kilometers for women and 20 kilometers for men.
On September 22 two teams met in the final confrontation for winning the tournament. The distance was 1000 meters. Leaders in scoring were students of the University of Sydney, our team came second. The other teams dropped out in the previous round.
Early in the morning on September 21, at the Mosman Rowing Club, preparation for the second day of competitions began. Athletes had to pass a distance of 5 kilometers. The distance began at Middle Harbour, then ran along Sugarloaf Bay and Sailors Bay; participants finished not far from Long Bay.
On September 14, 2013, the St. Petersburg State University rowing team headed for distant Australia, the city of Sydney. The purpose of this trip was to participate in three competitions combined into one tournament.
September 14 the St. Petersburg State University rowing crew is sent to the match meetings to Australia and New Zealand.
